For most design projects we use a straightforward pricing model based on dollars per square foot, taking into account factors such as the municipality and whether the space is finished or unfinished. After our initial consultation, we will provide you with a clear, written quote, enabling you to confidently plan your budget for project.
The answer depends on the type of project, scope and complexity of work, level of customization, client responsiveness, and zoning requirements. A typically custom home design can take between 2 - 4 months and a renovation design can take 1 - 4 months.

Your Builder will typically take care of your building permit application. We will happily assist by providing all necessary information and fill out the section of the application that requires the input of the Designer. At Willson Design, we are committed to working alongside your Builder to streamline your building permit process.
We are Registered Building Designers and are different from Architects. We both perform similar work and are responsible for design and production of building permit and construction drawings. Generally speaking as Building Designers, we can provide design services and drafting services required for you to build your next home, renovation, or small commercial building. We can also design duplexes and townhouses up to 4 units per building. There are some restrictions on size and purpose of building that may limit the project we can do.

Yes we are very fluent in the details and interpretation of the Agriculatural Land Reserve (ALR) and working alongside the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) to help our clients achieve their end design goals. Despite conflicting zoning interpretations and constantly changing regulations, we can help you navigate the complexities many encounter when building, including residential floor area limitations, driveway and building footprint size implications, floodplain restrictions, environmental impact assessments, mitigating agricultural impact, and more.
